Frequently Asked Questions

Are home foundation estimates free?

Yes, our estimates are absolutely free of charge. Even after we come inspect your property and offer you a written estimate, there is no obligation to use our services. It’s our goal for you to be fully informed and 100% comfortable with the contractor you choose to work with.

Will you give the homeowner a written estimate?

Yes, once we inspect your property, we will provide you an official written estimate/quote that will outline in detail the work we will do if you choose to work with us. This estimate will be valid for 30 days upon its receipt.

What is a wall anchor and how is it installed?

A wall anchor is typically used to restore the structural integrity of walls without having to rebuild them. With this technique, we will install a rod through the wall into the outside earth. A steel anchor is then attached to the rod through a vertical hole in the ground. Finally, a steel wall plate secures the rod to the inside basement wall. These can be placed in different locations along the wall and rod extenders can be used to avoid decks, flower beds, and other landscaping.

What is a push pier and how is it installed?

Utilizing hydraulically driven steel tubes and rugged steel brackets placed beneath existing footings, this system transfers a building's weight from unstable soil to load-bearing piers. We will first attach heavy, industrial-strength anchoring brackets to your home's footings. Next, rugged steel piers are hydraulically driven down to solid bedrock or equal load-bearing strata. This is done below ground so nothing is exposed. Finally, the weight of the building is carefully transferred from unstable soil to rock solid piers so your home or commercial building is secured.

How do you determine what needs to be done?

Depending on the complexity of the home foundation problem, we will inspect your home’s exterior and interior and take elevation readings of the interior. After the inspection, we will match the structural indications with the elevation readings to create. This serves to give us a complete picture of the stresses that are being exerted upon your property.

How Do I Spot Major Damage?

If you’re seeing cracks in the exterior brick or stonework of the home, uneven floors, crooked doorways and windows that may stick or not open and close properly, leaning fireplaces, cabinets that don’t hang properly, and cracks in the foundation itself, these are all indications that you could have a problem.

How Much Will It Cost?

This really depends on the the scope of your foundation trouble. During our inspection we will be as thorough as possible so that we can offer you an accurate assessment of the costs involved. Once you have our estimate, you’re under no obligation to use our services and are free to request a secondary quote.
